He is of the opinion that hackathons is a growing phenomenon that enables the tech community to gather around solutions. It is the best approach to engaging the various players in the industry in a low-cost way which results in measurable ideas.

It also encourages the engagement of architects with the public. The AIA places much emphasis on collaborations with other professions and disciplines. It tries hard not to work in isolation and emphasizes the putting up of interdisciplinary teams that are large and diverse. The institute believes that the ability to manage huge teams is a crucial skill for any successful architect. It takes pride in putting together a team of professionals from different fields to create a multiplicity of perspectives to develop the industry.
